24 settembre: concerto in omaggio a Niccolò Paganini - Chiesa di Piangipane alle 21- "Quanti capricci"

Lo sapevate che Niccolò Paganini suonò a Piangipane? Nel 1810, durante un breve tour in Romagna, reduce dai successi ottenuti a Forlì, si diresse a Piangipane, chiamato dal conte Cappi che aveva organizzato per il 23 settembre 1810 una sontuosa festa nella sua villa.  L’esibizione del celebre violinista riscosse un successo memorabile: chi l’avrebbe detto che una località agraria così piccola e remota sarebbe stata la sede di un concerto di un artista così importante?

This recital and multi-day residency by Donato D’Antonio (guitar) and Vanni Montanari (flute) is the first of the season in the Martha Barker ’70 Blessing Musicians-in-Residence series.  Eclectic and supportive musicians, D’Antonio and Montanari have been playing as a duo since 1996.  They have investigated and performed much of the published repertoire for flute and guitar.  They are deeply interested in new music and sounds and they actively participate in projects linked to contemporary artistic languages.  This concert is sponsored by the Music Department and is free and open to the public.  Select Music Department performances are broadcast at:  https://www.youtube.com/c/MusicSusquehanna/.

 Guest Artists: Argentina y Oriente - Celebrating XXVI years of Performing together VANNI MONTANARI (flute and alto flute) and DONATO D'ANTONIO (guitar)
"Vanni Montanari (flute) and Donato D'Antonio(guitar) are passing through Atlanta on one day, 9/14,  and have agreed to play a noon time concert at Georgia State University as well as provide flute and guitar master classes should we desire them. This is a rare opportunity to connect with, and to hear, two distinguished musicians perform a culturally diverse program focusing on Asian and Argentinean music.   I was fortunate to hear them perform their program in Rugusa, Sicily - Italy, early this month and was impressed with their high caliber ensemble playing and their ability to communicate modern music in a manner that makes it accessible to average listeners.  Moreover, Donato D'Antonio was impressed with my concert in Ragusa.
The concert will take place during MUA 1800/3800, Into to Guitar, and will serve as a required concert attendance for the class along with the students in the guitar studio.  It is my hope that the flute studio, composition majors, as well as other music students, will attend the event.  There is also interest from the Atlanta guitar community.

5 settembre CASTELLI IN MUSICA SINFONIA D'ESTATE ore 21.30 Reforzate, Giardino di Casa Londei

La Corelli è protagonista di Castelli in Musica con il concerto SINFONIA D'ESTATE.

Una cornice suggestiva, il giardino di Casa Londei, che gode di una magnifica vista sul castello di Sorbolongo per un tramonto da sogno.

Un programma musicale eterogeneo che spazia dal virtuosismo romantico, alla musica minimale europea, al tango argentino.

 Il M° DANIELE ROSSI, già ospite dell'Orchestra Corelli e apprezzato presso numerose istituzioni sinfoniche italiane, dirigerà il concerto che prevede numerosi ospiti solisti.

 MASSIMO GHETTI, flautista faentino che si forma al conservatorio di Pesaro con il M° Fiorenzo di Tommaso. È stato vincitore di prestigiosi premi internazionali e collabora stabilmente con le più importanti orchestre italiane.

 ROBERTA PANDOLFI, pianista, da oltre un decennio apprezzata in tutto il mondo al fianco di grandi artisti come Irvine Arditti, Kirill Rodin e Theodosia Ntokou. Per Castelli in Musica eseguirà il concerto di Henrik Gorecki per clavicembalo e orchestra.

RAFFAELE DAMEN, virtuoso della fisarmonica, tra i maggiori esponenti italiani ed europei della sua generazione, si distingue sempre per l'espressività delle sue esecuzioni. La sua musicalità è il connubio perfetto con la musica di Astor Piazzola di cui sarà interprete in questo concerto.

 Al suo fianco DONATO D'ANTONIO alla chitarra. La sua attività musicale è molto variegata e spesso mette insieme diverse arti performative. Si è esibito in tutto il mondo a fianco di importanti musicisti e attori e nelle più svariate formazioni, sia col repertorio tradizionale che contemporaneo.
